In the past 48-hours, cyber attacks aimed at the U.S. have increased by more than 836%. The majority are predominantly coming from Russia. New variants of existing hacking tools and techniques have exploded.

What should you do?  (Please read carefully.)

Protect your accounts by NOT using the same password, use strong passwords, and enable two factor authentication. Never use the same password for more than one login.

For all logins where security passwords, code words, phrases, or security questions are an option, use them.

Periodically review bank and credit card statements for fraudulent activity.

Review your credit report from each bureau annually for accounts that you did not open.

Watch out for elderly loved ones who may not understand tech. There are those out there who will do anything to take advantage of this group.

Don’t answer calls from numbers that you do not recognize.  If it is important, they will leave a message.

Don’t click on links in text messages from unknown senders.

Don’t accept calendar invitations from unknown senders.

Install the application/software, Malwarebytes on all mobile devices. (Cell phones, tablets, etc.)

Avoid placing sensitive data on social media sites if possible.

Never use business email addresses as logins for personal use. For example, don’t setup Spotify and Homedepot.com personal accounts using your business email address.
